Mac Server
Recently the district has purchased a new MAC server. With a few books and the help of some apple techs, the server is now (semi) functioning. Unlike Microsofts’s “Active Directory”, Apple uses “Open Directory” or “OD”. OD will allows us to authenticate apple computers in the district and push policies, software updates, calendars, printers and much much more. Of course this is just the tip of the iceberg. With the district going 1:1 in the upcoming year, the MAC server plans to play a big role with distributing software, Itunes Volume Vouchers, and podcasting.
Now that is the way to go!
